Review: Awakened by P.C. Cast & Kristen Cast

Synopsis:

“My love, speak to me.  Tell me everything.”  Neferet went to Kalona, kneeling before him, stroking the soft, dark wings that unfurled loosely around the immortal.
“What would you have me say?”  He didn’t meet her eyes.
“Zoey lives.” Neferet’s voice was flat, cold, lifeless.
“She does.”
“Then you owe me the subservience of your immortal soul.”  She started to walk away from him.
“Where are you going?  What will happen next?”
“It is quite simple.  I will ensure Zoey is drawn back to Oklahoma.  There, on my own terms, I will complete the task you failed.”
Exonerated by the Vampyre High Council and returned to her position of High Priestess at Tulsa’s House of Night, Neferet has sworn vengeance on Zoey.  Dominion over Kalona is only one of the weapons she plans to use against Z.  But Zoey has found sanctuary on the Isle of Skye and is being groomed by Queen Sgiach to take over for her there.  Being Queen would be cool, wouldn’t it?  Why should she return to Tulsa? After losing her human consort, Heath, she will never be the same – and her relationship with her super-hot-warrior, Stark, may never be the same either…
And what about Stevie Rae and Rephaim?  The Raven Mocker refuses to be used against Stevie Rae, but what choice does he have when no one in the entire world, including Zoey, would be okay with their relationship?  Does he betray his father or his heart?
In the pulse-pounding 8th book in the bestselling House of Night series, how far will the bonds of friendship stretch and how strong are the ties that bind one girl’s heart?

Review:

In this book there isnt alot a action going on, at least not as much as in most of the other books. But I think it is time we see Zoey kinda get a chance to relax and pull herself together a bit. The only bad thing about that is while she is resting and getting her sence of self back again, the guys back at the house of night are having some serious problems. There are some major thing that go down in the book, we lose more people to death ( i wont say who, but i was shocked!). But we see alot of love as her relationship with Stark takes some serious turns for the better. I personally love Stark so I loved watching them build on there relationship. The bond between the two is so wonderful that it made me feel all mushy. Then back at school you have Stevie Ray who is imprinted with a ravenmocker and we see how that progresses to. I actually like the thought of Stevie Ray finding someone like Raphiem. In this book we see how Stevie Ray and her ravenmocker are dealing with the fact that Kalona and Zoey are back from the otherworld and now it will be hard to keep this big secret. Stevie Ray is dying to tell Zoey , but what will that do thier friendship? Can she risk it? And I absolutly loved that we get to see more of Raphiems side of things. Its very interesting to see just how he sees Stevie Ray. This book lets you see the story from several different perspectives, we also get to see some of Starks thoughts early on and later Kalona and Nefrets as well. And finally we get to see a new perspective from a character that we havent gotten to do that with yet. Its is a wild emotional roller coaster.........but totally worth it......so strap i and hang on cause its gonna get bumpy! I recommend this book to anyone who even slightly liked the others in the series. But how could you not love the whole series? Exactly. I love them all but this one is one of my favorite installments so far.
